CORPORATE OUTREACH MANAGER - SOUTHEAST ASIA

 

Terms of Employment: Consultancy, 40 hours a week

Reports to: President and Campaigns Director

Position Location: remote, Southeast Asia

(Malaysia or Indonesia preferred)

About Sinergia Animal:

Rated as one of the world’s most effective animal protection organizations by Animal Charity Evaluators, Sinergia Animal is an international campaigning organization working in countries from the Global South (South America and Southeast Asia) to reduce animal suffering and promote more compassionate food choices. We use negotiations, investigations, peaceful direct actions and innovative campaigning methods to expose the suffering of animals in factory farms. The goal is to persuade major food corporations to adopt and implement policies to phase out the use of animal products which originate from the worst forms of animal production systems, with a focus on intensive confinement practices. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Research and build a database of food companies’ profiles and key contacts

  • Establish permanent contact with key corporate contacts via emails, phone calls and in-person meetings; with the goal of persuading companies to adopt cage-free egg policies in their supply chains

  • Travel regionally, as necessary, to meet contacts

  • Represent Sinergia Animal and its campaigns at public events and with the NGO and animal protection communities at large

  • Work with Sinergia Animal's team in translating and developing campaign materials; writing press releases and planning media strategies; acting as a media spokesperson for campaigns and developing proactive relationships with the media.

  • Build alliances with other international and/or grassroots NGOs

Requirements:

  • Southeast Asian, preferably from Malaysia or Indonesia, fluent in English

  • Desirable: Previous experience in communications or campaigning with the media or NGOs

  • Excellent oral communication, writing and proofreading skills

  • Excellent research skills

  • Proven ability to work both independently and in close coordination with a remote team

  • Commitment to the mission and objectives of the organization

  • Commitment to non-violent direct actions

COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER (remote)

Reports to: CEO, Campaign Manager, and Global Communications Manager
Position Location: Anywhere in the world, remote
Salary: to be defined according to location and experience 

About the organization:
Rated as one of the world’s most effective animal protection organizations by Animal Charity Evaluators, Sinergia Animal is an international campaigning organization working in countries in South America and Southeast Asia to reduce animal suffering and promote more compassionate food choices.

Responsibilities:

  • Write press releases for journalists from mainstream media outlets;

  • Write texts and design visual content for the organization’s social media channels and implement our Social Media strategy in order to increase our online presence;

  • Monitor the most important social media KPIs;

  • Answer messages and comments on social media;

  • Writing video scripts;

  • Contact celebrities and influencers to join campaigns;

  • Work with Sinergia Animal’s international and local teams in translating and developing campaign materials;

  • Prepare texts, design images, send and monitor the performance of marketing emails 

  • Managing Facebook and Instagram ads.

  • Technical requirements:

  • Native Spanish speaker (excellent oral communication, writing and proofreading skills);

  • Fluent or advanced English is indispensable;

  • At least 6 years of experience in journalism, press service, social media and/or content production;

  • Previous experience in NGOs is desirable;

  • Familiarity with graphic design;

  • Excellent knowledge of Instagram, Facebook and Twitter best practices

  • Advanced knowledge of ads management on Facebook and Instagram

  • Excellent research skills;

  • Video editing is a desirable plus;

  • Sound knowledge of farmed animal protection issues.
