About Sinergia Animal

Rated as one of the world's most effective animal protection organizations by Animal Charity Evaluators, Sinergia Animal is an international campaigning organization working in countries in the Global South (specifically Latin America and Southeast Asia) to reduce animal suffering and promote more compassionate food choices.

We use negotiations, investigations, peaceful direct actions, and innovative campaigning methods to expose the suffering of farmed animals and to help build a world in which no animals are exploited for food.

About the position

We are seeking a Food Policy Lead to support the ongoing implementation and expansion of the Alimentando el Mañana (AEM) program. This role is central to ensuring that institutional commitments are translated into consistent, long-term practice.

Working closely with the Food Policy Senior Lead and territorial teams, the Food Policy Lead strengthens institutional relationships, supports territorial growth, and ensures effective coordination and follow-up across the program. The position emphasizes operational follow-up, systematization, and coordination, along with basic communications support, to ensure that program strategies are implemented, monitored, documented, and continuously improved.

This role is especially critical within AEM’s 2026 strategy, where institutional permanence and structured follow-up are key to sustaining impact as the program continues to scale.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Program follow-up and long-term institutional compliance

  • Implementing and maintaining the institutional follow-up system of the AEM program

  • Managing and updating the database of institutions

  • Monitoring the continuity of plant-based menu implementation in participating institutions

  • Preparing written annual feedback and closure reports for participating institutions

  • Supporting the creation of reports related to program performance and impact

  • Maintaining and updating internal tools such as Monthly Metrics, Highlights, spreadsheets, and tracking documents

  • Providing operational support for key program events

  • Supporting the team with basic communication tasks linked to program implementation and follow-up, including:

    • preparation of simple visual pieces using Canva (basic level)

    • adaptation of materials for internal and external use (presentations, one-pagers, summaries)

  • Coordinating with chefs, nutritionists, volunteers, and partners to ensure alignment with follow-up processes

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess most, if not all, of the following qualities, skills, and characteristics:

  • A bachelor’s degree in nutrition, social sciences, public health, project management, or a related field is desirable.

  • Experience in program implementation, follow-up, or coordination in social, food, health, or sustainability projects.

  • Strong organizational and systematization skills, with attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously and work with structured follow-up tools.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary and remote teams.

  • Clear written communication skills, especially for internal reporting and institutional feedback.

  • Basic skills in Canva or similar design tools for simple visual materials.

  • Strong time management skills and ability to work to deadlines.

  • Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.

  • Interest in sustainable food systems and plant-based nutrition.

  • Proficiency in Spanish; English proficiency is highly desirable.
