Location: São Paulo - SP - Brazil

Language requirement: Fluent Portuguese and Advanced English

Rated as one of the world's most effective animal protection organizations by Animal Charity Evaluators, Sinergia Animal is an international campaigning organization working in countries in the Global South (specifically Latin America and Southeast Asia) to reduce animal suffering and promote more compassionate food choices. We use negotiations, investigations, peaceful direct actions, and innovative campaigning methods to expose the suffering of farmed animals and to help build a world in which no animals are exploited for food.

About the position

Sinergia Animal is seeking a Corporate Engagement Lead - Brazil to be responsible for generating and maintaining contact with companies in Brazil, in order to negotiate corporate policies that reduce the suffering of animals in the food industry. Our focus is ending intensive confinement practices, especially for pigs in the pork industry

 

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
 

  • Researching and building a database of food and retail companies’ profiles, policies, and key contacts;

  • Researching and developing support materials about our animal welfare asks; 

  • Hosting corporate meetings and preparing presentations for different stakeholders, including executives, directors, and producers, with the goal of persuading companies to adopt animal welfare policies in their supply chains; 

  • Consistently establishing permanent contact with key corporate contacts, via emails, phone calls, and meetings; 

  • Supporting projects within our corporate engagement department;  

  • Tracking, evaluating, and reporting progress of corporate commitments and policy implementation, ensuring accuracy and accountability;

  • Coordinating with the Communications and Campaigns teams to integrate corporate engagement into broader advocacy campaigns, ensuring consistent messaging and visibility;

  • Regularly reviewing corporate engagement processes, identifying bottlenecks and proposing improvements to strengthen impact and reduce response times;

  • Monitoring KPIs and outcomes of corporate meetings and campaigns, using data to adjust approaches and maximize effectiveness;

  • Representing Sinergia Animal at public events and animal protection communities at large;

  • Building alliances with other international and/or grassroots NGOs;

  • Traveling regionally, as necessary, to meet contacts; 

  • Supporting, executing, or coordinating any other activities when necessary; and

  • Carrying out other activities assigned by the supervisor, director, and/or president, and following all procedures set by Sinergia Animal.



Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess most, if not all, of the following qualities, skills, and characteristics:

  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with high-level stakeholders

  • Understanding of corporate sustainability, ESG, or CSR concepts, and how they connect with food systems and animal welfare

  • Analytical capacity to evaluate corporate policies, sustainability reports, and supply chains

  • Advanced/fluent English 

  • Excellent oral communication, writing, and proofreading skills

  • Excellent research skills

  • Proven ability to work both independently and in close coordination with a remote team

  • Must be able to work to deadlines and simultaneously manage multiple projects

  • Strong time management skills

  • Commitment to the mission and objectives of the organization
