About Sinergia Animal
Rated as one of the world's most effective animal protection organizations by Animal Charity Evaluators, Sinergia Animal is an international campaigning organization working in countries in the Global South (specifically Latin America and Southeast Asia) to reduce animal suffering and promote more compassionate food choices.
We use negotiations, investigations, peaceful direct actions, and innovative campaigning methods to expose the suffering of farmed animals and to help build a world in which no animals are exploited for food.
About the position
We are looking for a passionate and strategic Comms and Mobilization Lead to join our team. In this role, you will drive high-impact communication and public mobilization efforts that influence policies of global corporations and financial institutions and promote meaningful improvements in animal welfare and sustainability practices.
You will play a central role in shaping and delivering compelling campaigns that raise awareness, shift public opinion, and pressure major food corporations and financial institutions to enhance their animal welfare and sustainability policies. Working closely with the International Engagement Director and other team members, you will lead an international community of activists, as well as develop and implement integrated communication strategies, create powerful content, and build alliances with key stakeholders, including media, influencers, and grassroots supporters.
This role requires strong storytelling, campaign design, mobilization, and professional communication skills. If you're motivated by impact and ready to inspire change through bold and creative comms work, we’d love to hear from you!
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-
Engage and motivate a global community of volunteer activists to take action in campaign initiatives to persuade financial institutions and global food companies to enhance their animal welfare policies.
-
Provide advice to maximize the outreach and impact of offline campaign initiatives, including peaceful, visual, and bold street actions led by the Campaigns Lead.
-
Develop and implement comms strategies to maximize the visibility and impact of these campaigns, such as social media content, newsletters, and press releases to national and international mainstream media outlets.
-
Travel nationally and internationally, as necessary, to attend and help coordinate campaign actions.
-
Represent Sinergia Animal and its campaigns at public events and within the NGO and animal protection communities at large.
-
Work with Sinergia Animal's international and national comms leads to align plans and workload with our social media platforms and PR agencies.
-
Help build alliances with other international and/or grassroots NGOs.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess most, if not all, of the following qualities, skills, and characteristics:
-
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as social communications, journalism, or marketing.
-
Previous knowledge in producing professional comms content and mobilization strategies.
-
Excellent research and creativity skills.
-
Proven ability to work both independently and in close coordination with a remote team.
-
Must be able to work to deadlines and manage multiple projects.
-
Strong time management skills.
-
Commitment to the mission and objectives of the organization.
-
Commitment to non-violent direct actions.
-
An affinity for animal rights issues and a vegan lifestyle is highly desirable.
-
Proficiency in English. Spanish and other languages spoken at Sinergia are a plus.
-
Strong team player skills.
Enthusiasm and proactiveness are very important to us. If you don’t tick all the points on this list but are very excited about this role, we want to hear from you.
