DESIGNER AND EDITOR LEAD - INTERNATIONAL

Location: International - Remote

Terms of Employment: Full-Time | 40 hours per week

Reports to: Content Strategy Director - International

Location: International - Preferably candidates from Southeast Asia.

Language requirement: Fluent English

Rated as one of the world's most effective animal protection organizations by Animal Charity Evaluators, Sinergia Animal is an international campaigning organization working in countries in the Global South (specifically Latin America and Southeast Asia) to reduce animal suffering and promote more compassionate food choices. 

We use negotiations, investigations, peaceful direct actions, and innovative campaigning methods to expose the suffering of farmed animals and to help build a world in which no animals are exploited for food.

About the position

We are seeking an experienced Designer and Video Editor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for editing and designing content materials, aiming to engage people and companies to adopt stronger animal welfare policies.


Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reinforce brand guideline adherence and maintenance.

  • Design social media posts and ads, working closely with content creators.

  • Create trendy Reels/TikTok for social media.

  • Design and prepare files for final delivery for print and digital formats (including flyers, billboards, banners, newsletters, etc.).

  • Conduct in-depth online research to plan and identify targets for investigations, particularly in Brazil and Southeast Asia.

  • Oversee contracts and the work of outsourced investigative agencies and freelancers.

  • Assist agencies and freelancers at challenging and unexpected times when doing fieldwork (e.g. potentially getting calls and messages in the middle of the night in case of extreme emergencies).

  • Plan and oversee professional, high-standard post-production of investigative and institutional videos with the Video & Investigations Producer Sr. Lead, including image selection and scriptwriting. Ensure teamwork flows well and to agreed deadlines.

  • Ensure the production of fast-paced, high-quality video content.

  • Hire, train, and mentor freelancers and agencies to support investigations and audiovisual production, ensuring effective collaboration and high standards of work.

  • Edit videos and help build media center pages.

  • Approve and develop video scripts, storylines, and key messages to create compelling narratives for investigative documentaries, reports, social media, and campaigns.

  • Write and/or review and approve promotional texts and social media content to promote investigative findings and create awareness.

  • Ensure that all video content meets technical and storytelling standards and is impactful and accurate.

  • Prepare briefings for legal teams, ensuring timely legal reviews and content clearance before publication or distribution.

  • Develop dissemination strategies for investigations, ensuring that the content reaches key stakeholders, media, and public audiences.

  • Work with communications leads and national directors to strategically amplify the impact of investigations via press releases, media outreach, and social media.

  • Track views and engagement on social media content related to investigations and monitor the performance of ads with the support of communications managers.

  • Monitor and evaluate the success of investigations and campaigns, using data and feedback to refine future strategies and improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess most, if not all, of the following qualities, skills, and characteristics:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Design, Publicity, Marketing, or Journalism.

  • Strong background in running communication content.

  • Excellent design and editing skills.

  • Proven ability to work both independently and in close coordination with a remote team.

  • Must be able to work to deadlines and manage multiple projects.

  • Strong time management skills.

  • Commitment to the mission and objectives of the organization.

  • Commitment to non-violent direct actions.

  • Affinity for animal rights issues and a vegan lifestyle is highly desirable.

  • Advanced level of English.

  • Strong team player.
