SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

Location: Remote  - Latin America

This position is preferably for Black, Indigenous, trans people, and people with disabilities. 

 

Terms of Employment: Consultancy, 40 hours a week

Reports to: Communications Director

Position Location: Remote - Global South natives and/or inhabitants are preferred

Remuneration: To be defined according to location and experience

Language requirement: Native Spanish speaker, Fluent English

 

About Sinergia Animal

Rated as one of the world's most effective animal protection organizations by Animal Charity Evaluators, Sinergia Animal is an international campaigning organization working in countries from the Global South (specifically Latin America and Southeast Asia) to reduce animal suffering and promote more compassionate food choices. 

We use negotiations, investigations, peaceful direct actions, and innovative campaigning methods to expose the suffering of farmed animals and to help build a world in which no animals are exploited for food.

About the position

Sinergia Animal is looking for a native Spanish-speaking (and fluent in English) International Social Media Manager to manage—along with our national teams—our social media channels around the world. We are looking for a passionate social media user and savvy content creator who is in tune with the newest trends of the platforms. At the same time that this position requires a dynamic and creative profile, we are also looking for a mature and organized professional who can guide our national social media teams and present concrete results in organic followership and engagement growth across the board with high-quality content about veganism and animal protection.

Responsibilities

  • Creating engaging social media content for Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Twitter, and any such platform (in English - a native English speaker proofreader will be provided);

  • Increasing the engagement and organic growth of Sinergia Animal’s social media;

  • Work with Sinergia Animal’s Audiovisual manager for the content on Youtube whenever necessary;

  • Creating the social media schedule for Latin America;

  • Reviewing and approving the social media schedules for all countries where we work;

  • Reviewing and approving social media content produced by our national communications team;

  • Translating content from English to Spanish and vice versa;

  • Performing and guiding the communications team regarding the best practices of community management;

  • Keeping track of the social media KPIs and suggesting improvements to assure good engagement on our social media.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with social media content production and management on the aforementioned platforms;

  • Proven results with increasing organic social media growth and sustaining healthy platform engagement;

  • Excellent written skills in English and Spanish;

  • Being social media savvy and always on the lookout for the latest trends;

  • Knowledge of Canva and design are appreciated;

  • Desired soft skills: creative, organized, proactive, attentive to details, clear communication with the work peers, solutions oriented, responsible with tasks and deadlines, agile;

  • Affinity with/knowledge about veganism and animal rights is key to this position, which is designed to create content about these subjects;
