MANAGER OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S OFFICE

Location: Remote

This position is preferably for Black, Indigenous, trans people, and people with disabilities.

 

Terms of Employment: Consultancy, 40 hours a week

Reports to: Executive Director

Position Location: Remote - Latin America

Remuneration: To be defined according to location and experience

Language requirement: Fluent English (desirable Spanish and/or Portuguese)

 

About Sinergia Animal

Rated as one of the world's most effective animal protection organizations by Animal Charity Evaluators, Sinergia Animal is an international campaigning organization working in countries in the Global South (specifically Latin America and Southeast Asia) to reduce animal suffering and promote more compassionate food choices. 

We use negotiations, investigations, peaceful direct actions, and innovative campaigning methods to expose the suffering of farmed animals and to help build a world in which no animals are exploited for food.

About the position

The Executive Assistant provides executive support and serves as the primary point of contact for the Executive Director and as a liaison with the Board of Directors and Advisors. The ideal individual will have multi-tasking abilities, creativity, flexibility, the ability to exercise good judgment in various situations, as well as strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills. They must be able to work under pressure at times and handle confidential matters with discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive support to the Executive Director, ensuring outstanding

  • communication and responsiveness

  • Manage calendars and prioritize inquiries and requests to ensure smooth day-to-day engagements

  • Help the Executive Director with internal and external communications

  • Conduct research and analysis on issues of interest to the Executive Director

  • Manage all scheduling and travel logistics for the Executive Director

  • Research, prepare and edit correspondence, presentations, reports, etc.

  • Complete expense reports and manage correspondence with donors

  • Support the Executive Director in strategic communications, organizational strategy, and all other special projects as assigned

  • Organize meetings and events

  • Manage Executive Director’s social media accounts (LinkedIn)

  • Assist in other administrative tasks as needed​

Requirements

  • Experience: Two years of related work experience

  • Familiarity with the non-profit sector and the animal rights movement

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to take initiative, multi-task, and be a team player

  • Be flexible, adapt to shifting priorities, and prioritize tasks as necessary

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Demonstrated writing and analytical skills

  • Excellent organizational skills, commitment to accuracy, and attention to detail

  • Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, Google Suite, and social media web platforms

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with diplomacy
